Here they ALL are… 18 dogs & 5 cats, I really did try to just post a couple pictures of the “cute” ones… But when I started editing them, it was impossible. Let me start with how the theme for “bags packed and ready to go..” came about. I’ve mentioned in my last post about the downsizing thats been going on at my childhood home. Well, thats how this styled shoot popped into my head. The vintage trunk, leather suitcases and plaid duffel (with the original Pan Am ID tags) came out of my parents garage. The floral seventies case was given to me by a friend and the little blue eighties bag I picked up somewhere along the way… The vintage hankie backdrop looks familiar to you if you have been in my house, they are the curtains I made for Goldie’s room, I promised her I was just borrowing them and would promptly hang them back before the day ended 🙂 And, last but not least to tie together the theme I whipped up a couple scarves made with vintage hankies for the ladies and vintage fabrics for the gents. Yesterday’s shoot was a whirl wind, my time that is spent interacting with each of these beautiful animals yanks on my heart just a little. Im often asked, How do you do it? Don’t you feel so bad leaving them there? Aren’t you sad seeing them in cages? I do it because this is how I can contribute, help a little bit in perhaps them finding a forever home. SURE.. I wish I could take everyone of these babies home with me, but thats not realistic for my family. I do sometimes truly connect with one of these babies, and yes it makes me feel sad to leave them… And for selfish reasons, I snuggle them up, clean their eyes, rub their bellies, wish them well and give them a kiss goodbye..
