“Deco Dreams” seems like yesterday! But it was actually shot last spring here at my house. The collaboration took months of planning, designing, making and months of waiting for the editorial to be picked up by a publication. These gorgeous photos were taken by Shaina Leigh Photography . The models were clothed in a collaboration of Lacey Lane clothing line and myself alissaalfonso. Shaina introduced me to Lacey Lane, a Australian clothing line for girls, and I immediately fell in love with their style. Below each styled shot is some of the one of a kind pieces I created for “Deco Dreams” A special Thanks to Child Model Magazine for picking up the shoot, it is available in print as well as as digitally on their site. Happy New Year….
Black & White… Saddle shoes, strawberries… and my Mema’s table. The Lacey Lane bloomers matched my grandmothers 1940’s patio table perfectly. I created the appliqué strawberry tank and soft sculpture hair pieces. Even Yoda made an appearance!
The impromptu shots are my favorite… the floral top above is a vintage find! This Bahama bed was one of the first pieces of furniture my parents bought when they were first married. I have recovered it numerous times and constantly move it around my house! I sewed the curtains with vintage quilter hexies..
More strawberries and some vintage eyelet ruffled socks I made, paired with red and white Mary Jane’s…
The couch the girls are sitting on is actually a baby crib from the 1940’s, I had it reworked into a sofa. More ruffled socks that I made in vintage purple eyelet! All of the quilts are vintage finds of mine… I love vintage quilts!
I created this wallpaper for these shots using bulletin board paper that I painted and a vintage fabric remnant that I cut the floral design off and collaged them onto the paper. I also made the soft sculpture flowers the girls are holding.
